I’m a person who really loves my unsweetened hot drinks. A huge favorite is coffee but after one or two servings, I’ve found that I have to lay off the caffeine somewhat and so I often drink tea. As most people do here in the US, I would pick up tea bags at the grocery store and I was pretty satisfied with that. But near the end of 2024, I stumbled upon Chinese loose leaf tea and rabbit hole that is Gong Fu style tea brewing (there’s some good vids about it on Youtube if you’re interested to know more). I dove in and acquired the appropriate tea ware and a variety of nice Chinese teas to start my tea journey and so far I am really enjoying it.

Excited by this new hobby of mindfully preparing and savoring tea, I was inspired to paint this Tea Hog enjoying the aromas rising from the tea steeping away in it’s Gaiwan. Cheers!
