Here’s a piece I did a while back but didn’t post about it earlier because I had finished the inner piece but felt it needed an interesting frame to go along with it, and it took me a while to get to that part! I’m glad I got around to it though, this piece definitely needed a frame with such things as three dimensional fingers made out of clay, and now it can finally be called complete.

I had a really good time layering on the texture to make interesting gradients in this colorful painting. I used casein and casein + gouache paint. The main inner painting is 8″ X 10″ and is on paper mounted to aluminum panel. I varnished it matte so it would retain the soft velvety look of the original mediums.

I consider this figure to be a clown of sorts. Any artist worth anything should do a clown art at least occasionally! 🤡
